Nansemond-Suffolk Academy volleyball had four players selected first team All-State.
The Lady Saints volleyball team recently finished up the season as the Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association Division II state runner-up. NSA was one of the more dominant teams in the VISAA this year. They held the No. 1 seed throughout the regular season and also held the No. 1 seed throughout the playoffs as well.
The Lady Saints had four players make the VISAA Division II All-State first team. Addy Greene, Livian Matthews, Rylee Bono and Tracy Wang were all first-team selections.
Despite how the season ended, the Lady Saints was more than happy with what they accomplished on and off the court. Coach Robyn Ross didn’t want to let her group lose sight of what they had achieved this season.
“At the end of the day, the game didn’t go the way we wanted,” Ross said. “However, I will not let the girls lose sight of all the amazing things they have done this season and all the obstacles they overcame to get there. I am so proud of this team, a family as we call it. The success from this season doesn’t stem from the outcome of one match.”
