A crash involving a passenger vehicle and flatbed farm truck sent a man to the hospital with serious injuries on Thursday afternoon.

The crash happened at 2:21 p.m. in the 8700 block of South Quay Road. An adult male, the only occupant of the passenger vehicle, was taken by Nightingale to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

Westbound lanes in the area were shut down following the crash.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
