The Nansemond-Suffolk Academy girls’ volleyball team took a 3-1 loss in the Division II state title game Saturday afternoon.
The Lady Saints matched up with Trinity Christian School in a battle for the Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association Division II state title. After falling 2-0 to TCS, the Lady Saints were able to take the third set to cut the TCS lead to 2-1.
The fourth set proved to be the most exciting of the game, as NSA was able to claw its way out of a deficit to tie the set. Both teams continued to go back and forth, with TCS ultimately taking the fourth set in a nail-biter.
