The Walgreens near downtown has been evacuated “out of an abundance of caution” due to a burning smell inside the business, according to a city news release.
Suffolk Fire & Rescue crews are on the scene in the 100 block of West Constance Road. The burning smell was first reported at 4:31 p.m., and the first units arrived on scene two minutes later, the release stated.
Firefighters did not detect an odor upon their arrival, but the inspection remains ongoing.
