The Suffolk Christian Academy boys’ soccer team won its third game in a row Monday afternoon.
The Knights went on the road Monday afternoon to take on Portsmouth Christian School and took a 2-1 win. Zeke Voight and Franz Richard-Baichl scored. With this being their third win in a row, the Knights have built some momentum up over the past week. Coach Marquis Lassiter likes the way his team has played over the last few games.
“We have been more direct and intentional with our passing and on the defensive end,” Lassiter said. “We have been more fluid in our movements, and that has helped us in our wins.”
Before their win streak started, SCA had been playing some tough teams. They had some tough losses, but Lassiter made sure to keep his team confident.
“I told them don’t worry too much about the score; let’s focus on getting better,” Lassiter said. “I’ve seen these guys become more comfortable in their roles since the season started. It feels like they are more relaxed as a unit, and that has helped us over the course of these last couple of games.”
SCA has a couple more games during the regular season before the Knights can truly look back and see the progress they have made.
