The Boys and Girls Club of Southeast Virginia Suffolk Unit will hold its 10th annual BBQ and Oyster Roast on Saturday at Constant’s Wharf Park behind the Hilton Garden Inn Suffolk Riverfront, 100 E. Constance Road.
The fundraiser will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., with the Ron Williams United Way Golf Tournament as the title sponsor.
Participants will enjoy all-you-can-eat oysters and barbecue, plus live entertainment by the Island Boy Band. The food will be provided by Amicis, Baron’s Pub and Buffalo Wild Wings, which is a national sponsor of the Boys and Girls Club. Fellow national sponsor Planet Fitness will also be on site.
Ticketholders will also receive two drink tickets each for beer or wine, and additional drink tickets may be purchased at $5 for two tickets. Water and soda will be provided for free, as well.
“We ask everybody to bring a lawn chair and just enjoy what should be a beautiful evening with entertainment, food and friendship,” said Boys and Girls Clubs of Southeast Virginia Suffolk Unit Co-Chair Phil McPhail.
Tickets are $30 each in advance and $40 at the gate. Sponsorships are also still available, and McPhail gave special thanks to all of this year’s sponsors.
This year marks the 100th anniversary of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Southeast Virginia. Proceeds will benefit the BGCSEVA Suffolk Unit’s programs and about 100 children that are served by these programs on average daily.
“This is a special year,” McPhail said. “Not only is it the 10th annual oyster roast, but it’s the 100th anniversary of the Boys and Girls Club in the Tidewater area.”
