The Nansemond-Suffolk Academy football team went to 0-4 after an 10-7 overtime loss at home last Friday.
The Saints had their first home game last weekend after heading on the road for three straight weeks. They took on Isle of Wight Academy, a game that provides plenty of rivalry for those who were looking for it. IWA started off the game in control in the first quarter, causing a Saints turnover and scoring off of it to take an early 7-0.
IWA maintained their 7-0 lead all the way through to the fourth quarter. The Saints were able to score in the fourth quarter to force overtime between the two teams. The Saints had a chance to win the game, as they were on the goal line in overtime and couldn’t capitalize.
“Our guys fought hard,” Coach Mike Biehl said. “We have some opportunities to change the outcome, but it doesn’t change how hard those guys played.”
NSA will host Portsmouth Christian School this Friday with a chance to get their first win of the season.
