Suffolk Police say a woman has been arrested on charges she filed a false police report about a robbery and carjacking over the weekend.

Alexis Charnae Olds, 21, of Norfolk, was arrested on charges including false statement during investigation and false police report, according to a city press release.

The incident occurred during the early morning hours Aug. 10 at the intersection of North Fifth Street and Mount Horeb Street, according to the press release. Police say there was a single-vehicle accident at that location, and police allege Olds said she got out of her vehicle to retrieve an item from the trunk when she was approached by a group of black males that assaulted her and then fled in her vehicle. She allegedly also stated she then saw the vehicle crash with the subjects supposedly fleeing the scene, the release stated.
