A new back-to-school outfit is an unofficial requirement on any school supply list. The Carrollton Branch of the Blackwater Regional Library is making this necessity more affordable this year.
The Carrollton Library is holding a “Sharing is Caring: Clothing Swap” to get ready for the new school year that is quickly approaching. This is the Carrollton Branch’s first year holding this event, and hopefully there will be more to come.
The clothing donated for the swap needs to be new or gently used. It is essential to make sure that there are no stains or holes visible and the items are still in good condition. Children ages 6 to 11 should be the aim of the clothing sizes.
Clothing donated can include T-shirts, jeans, dresses, skirts, shirts and more. Shoes, purses and other accessories should not be included.
To participate in this event, call the Carrollton Branch of the Blackwater Regional Library or stop by the front desk to reserve a spot. Space is limited and is first-come, first-served. After signing up, items should be dropped off at the branch either Aug. 15 or Aug. 16. There is a maximum of 15 items dropped off for the swap. The participant will receive a ticket for each item of clothing that is donated.
The tickets should be saved for the swap on Saturday. Each item of clothing will be worth one ticket.
The clothing swap will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 17 at 14362 New Towne Haven Lane, Carrollton. Call 238-2641 for more information.
