Following are this week’s nominees for the Suffolk News-Herald Player of the Week:

• Haley Russell, senior, Nansemond River High School soccer: Russell scored the game-sealing goal for the Lady Warriors to advance to the region championship game.
• Jeshawn Walker, senior, Lakeland High School track: Walker earned two first-place finishes at the regional meets in two long-distance events.
• Amaya Allen, freshman, King’s Fork High School softball: Allen went 2-4 with a run in a regional win for the Lady Bulldogs.
