Three Lady Saints earn All-State for soccer

Three Nansemond-Suffolk Academy girls soccer players were named first-team all-state in Division II by the Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association.
Alivia Giles, Camryn King and Mallory Mizelle were first-team selections, and it was fitting that NSA had as many first-team selections, because for the second straight year, the Lady Saints advanced to the VISAA Division II state title game, falling to Highland both times.
“Every year we are trying to compete for a state championship,” Giles said. “Unfortunately, we fell short again this year. We played with everything we had throughout the season. This has been one of the best group of girls I’ve played with and we work for what we want.”
NSA will return the same team next year as they had no seniors this season. The Lady Saints finished with a 14-3-3 record.
