The Lady Cavs softball team took a 9-0 loss to Tabb High School in the opening round of the Class 3 Region tournament.

The Lakeland High School softball team traveled to Tabb High School Wednesday afternoon for the region opener. Lakeland went on to fall to Tabb, ending their season.

Coach Steve Wood liked the opportunity the game gave Lakeland to get experience under its belt.

Lakeland had two hits, and Hayleigh Presson pitched a complete game, striking out only two. Kamryn Whitley and Hannah Bass each had a hit.

Tabb combined for eight runs in the fourth and fifth innings to run away with the game.
