Cavs can’t find a run in close loss

The Lakeland High School baseball team took a 1-0 loss to Park View High School in the opening round of the region tournament.
The Cavs couldn’t get on the board Wednesday, leading to a shutout loss to Park View on the road. With the game being tied at zero through five innings, a late-inning score from Park View gave them the edge over Lakeland.
The Cavs scrimmaged Park View in the preseason and took a 12-2 loss.
Lakeland had five hits to Park View’s six, but the game only produced one run. Micah Joyner led in hits for Lakeland, going 2-3 with a double. Noah Boone pitched a complete game and struck out four on the mound while allowing six hits.
The Cavs finished the season with a 4-17 record.
