Big fifth inning pushes Lady Bulldogs

After scoring five runs in the fifth inning, the Lady Bulldogs softball team picked up a 5-4 win over Lakeland High School Thursday evening.
Lakeland led 3-0 going into the fifth inning before King’s Fork went on a tear, bringing in five runs. In the same inning, Lakeland scored a run, but with a score of 5-4 after the fifth inning, the Lady Bulldogs were able to hold off Lakeland.
Cali Hinanant handled pitching duties for King’s Fork, striking out 12. Isabella Gay went 2-3 from the plate and Baxley Lockhart went 1-3 with three RBIs. Lockhart and Hinnant also had triples in the win.
Both teams could be gearing up for regional action next week.
