Suffolk Police are investigating a shooting that happened Sunday in the Great Dismal Swamp.

The shooting was reported at 2:40 p.m. on Jericho Ditch Lane, according to a city press release. The adult male victim was treated by Suffolk Fire & Rescue personnel and ground transported to a hospital for treatment of serious injuries, the press release stated.

A police report indicated the victim is a 28-year-old man but redacted his name. It also says “the offender reported shooting the victim.”

Sunday’s press release stated there is no further information available for release. City spokeswoman Diana Klink also stated on Monday evening that no updates were available.
