Despite 15 saves from goalkeeper Mallory Mizelle, the Nansemond-Suffolk Academy girls soccer team fell to Norfolk Collegiate 2-0 in the TCIS semifinals Wednesday.
After picking up a 1-0 win in the first round Tuesday afternoon the Lady Saints advanced to the conference semifinals, but they were shut out.
The Lady Saints will now wait for their matchup in the Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association Division II state tournament. Last season, NSA was able to advance to the state championship game before falling to Highland School. NSA is currently ranked third in the most recent VISAA Division II state poll.
