Lady Saints set for championship

The Nansemond-Suffolk Academy softball team is set for the Edenton Aces Easter Softball tournament championship game Monday.
The Lady Saints went to North Carolina to play the first part of the Easter softball tournament last week. In two games Friday morning and afternoon, the Lady Saints went 2-0, picking up a 15-0 win over Northeastern High School and an 11-1 win over Bertie High School. The wins put NSA at 14-1 on the season.
Madison Inscoe handled pitching duties in the first game, getting the win, with Reese Byrd pitching in the second game and getting the win. Against Northeastern, Gabby Infranco had a big game, going 3-3 with two doubles and four RBIs. Cierra O’Keeffe went 2-2 with a triple and four RBIs.
In the second game against Bertie, Inscoe went 4-4 with a double, two home runs and four RBIs.
With their championship opponent to be determined, NSA will play in the championship game at 6 p.m. April 22 at John A. Holmes High School in Edenton, N.C.
