The annual spring Eggstravaganza will bring families out this Saturday for games, pony rides, crafts, music and plenty of Easter-egg treats.
The Suffolk Parks and Recreation event will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Bennetts Creek Park, 3000 Bennetts Creek Park Road. This free, public event is geared toward children ages 10 years and younger.
Children can bring their own Eggstravaganza bags or make them on the spot at the arts and crafts tent.
They’ll follow their clue sheets to find big stuffed bunnies throughout the park, right beside boxes that match the colors on the sheet. Staff members will then give out candy for each clue found. There will also be toys available for children that have allergies.
The egg hunting will continue throughout the day to make the activity more convenient for parents’ busy schedules, according to Emily Upton, Parks and Recreation special events coordinator.
“We know everyone’s schedule is busy, so you don’t have to be there at one set time for your child to participate,” Upton said.
The Easter Bunny will arrive at 11:15 a.m. and be available all morning to meet with the children. Food and vendors items will also be available for purchase at the park.
