A walk-off single late in the game secured a one-point win for the Knights at home Monday evening.
The Suffolk Christian Academy baseball team picked up a close 7-6 win over the Southern baseball team out of Kentucky. In the first inning, Southern jumped to a 6-2 lead. That proved to be the final inning they got on the board, as the Knights regained their composure and fought back.
SCA tied the game up at six after scoring four runs during the third and fourth innings. In the eighth inning, a single by Brennan Jones brought home a run on a 0-2 count, which gave the Knights the win.
Jeffrey Peacock and Jones handled pitching duties, with Peacock getting the bulk and the win. He struck out three. George Rennie went 2-3 with two runs and an RBI and a double. Peacock went 1-3 with three RBIs.
The win now puts SCA at 4-1 on the season.
