Saints bounce back against Tidewater

After taking its second loss of the season last Friday, the Saints baseball team bounced back at home against Tidewater Academy Monday afternoon.
The Nansemond-Suffolk Academy baseball team picked up a 6-1 win for its third win of the season. Colby Owens and Jameson Spence shared pitching duties on the mound for the Saints. Owens was lights out, striking out 11 and earning the win through five innings. Spence pitched the last two innings.
After starting the game off with a 2-0 lead after four innings, NSA recorded a strong fifth inning to push itself over the top. The team scored three runs that inning to Tidewater’s one, giving them a sizeable lead to close out the game.
Nic Psimas went 2-3 with a run and two RBIs. NSA scored six runs off of four hits. They also stole six bases as a team, with Jordan Crosland leading with two.
The Saints will be at home again Thursday evening when they take on Southampton Academy at 4:30 p.m.
