To the editor:

The irony of Trump’s shutdown is that the unpaid U.S. government workers who lose their homes and go without food have become like the immigrants that Trump wants to keep out. Both situations were caused by their government. We need a caravan headed to the White House. Trump needs to tell Mitch McConnell to put the government funding bills on the Senate floor for a vote. That’s how dysfunctional our government has become.
