An inmate at Western Tidewater Regional Jail faces charges that he threw a cup of urine on a corrections officer last week.

Glenn Kevin Doty threw what was believed to be a cup of urine and spit on the female officer during a headcount, according to city spokeswoman Diana Klink. A Suffolk police officer responded to the incident.

Doty has been charged with assault and battery of police officer, which is a felony.

Western Tidewater Regional Jail declined to comment on the incident.

Doty is currently at Western Tidewater Regional Jail after being indicted on 14 counts of possessing child pornography, 14 counts of distributing child pornography, two counts of assault and battery of a police officer, and two counts of assault and battery.

This is not the first time Doty has been arrested for assaulting a member of law enforcement, according to court records. He has been arrested on charges involving at least three separate alleged incidents.

Some of the charges have been not prosecuted. But he still faces charges on an alleged incident from January 2018, and the grand jury is set to consider an alleged incident in September 2017 later this month.
