Seven adults displaced in duplex fire

Seven adults were displaced from their homes after a duplex fire on Tuesday afternoon.
The fire in the 400 block of Cullodan Street was reported at 5:04 p.m., and Suffolk Fire & Rescue units arrived at 5:11 p.m., according to a city press release. Firefighters found heavy smoke showing from the rear of the first floor of the residence. The occupants had already evacuated.
The fire was called under control at 5:26 p.m., the press release stated. The fire was contained to the floor of origin, but both units suffered smoke damage. There were no injuries.
The seven adults are being assisted by the American Red Cross, the release stated.
The Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
