Suffolk Fire & Rescue Station 4, at 837 Kilby Road, will be closed for demolition and replacement of the station’s concrete apron in front of the engine bay starting this Wednesday.
Staff and equipment will be temporarily reassigned to Station 6, 300 Kings Fork Road, while repairs are taking place, according to a city press release.
The closure is expected to take about four to six weeks, due to the extent of the work and dependence on weather conditions, the press release stated.
