Man injured in shooting

A man was injured by gunfire during a reported robbery on Sunday evening, according to police.

Suffolk Police are investigating the incident that was reported at 9:03 p.m. Sunday in the area of East Washington and North Eighth streets, according to a city press release.

Officers found a man and woman who said they had been robbed by an unknown male. The man was shot and taken by Nightingale to an area hospital for treatment of injuries not considered life-threatening.

The woman was not injured.
