Warriors drop second meeting with Bruins

The Nansemond River High School boys’ basketball team dropped the season series against Western Branch High School 0-2.
The Warriors hosted Western Branch High School for the final regular-season meeting Thursday night and fell 67-47. It was the second time the teams met in the last week, and the loss dropped the Warriors to 2-3.
After one quarter of play, Western Branch held a 17-12 lead over the Warriors. The Bruins made a strong run in the second quarter to push their lead to 39-20 at the half.
Last game, both teams had been tied at the half. Nansemond River bounced back with a strong third quarter Thursday night but couldn’t keep Western Branch from extending their lead.
Jeremiah Lewis led Nansemond River in scoring with 17 points. Jalil Langston added 11 points.
