Young scores 1,000th point in win

Nylah Young scored her 1,000th point in a season-opening win for the Lady Bulldogs.
The King’s Fork High School girls’ basketball team is 1-0 after a 68-48 home win over Indian River High School Friday night. Senior Nylah Young led the way with 33 points and 12 rebounds on her way to the 1,000-point club. Neecole Brown followed with 12 points.
“That moment felt great,” Young said. “It was a complete surprise, though. I didn’t even know until tonight. It was a really good feeling.”
The Lady Bulldogs will turn around and play Hickory High School at home at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
