The King’s Fork High School field hockey team had six players make the Class 4A All-Region teams.
The Lady Bulldogs field hockey team had a solid season in the second year of Coach Ashley Skinner. The team was able to put together multiple shutouts and was also able to advance to the playoffs. King’s Fork hosted a playoff game for the first time in school history and advanced to the regional semifinals before being eliminated.
Because of the strong play of the Lady Bulldogs throughout the regular season and playoffs, they had a nice showing on the all-region teams. Isabella Gay led the way as a first team all-region selection. Gay was working hard for a strong senior season. She knew bettering herself as a player was going to make the team better.
“I was ecstatic when Coach told me,” Gay said. “I am super thankful for the support of my coaches and my team, especially Coach Skinner. I couldn’t have done it without her. I think making first team all-region definitely reflected the hard work I put in this season.”
Anaya Godfrey, Jaiden Combs, Audre Davis, Cali Hinnant and Meghan Bailey made second team all-region. It was a good showing for the Lady Bulldogs, who play in a tough 4A region. Veda Goss was also an honorable mention for the all-region teams.
“I feel proud of my hard work this season,” Godfrey said. “It definitely paid off with the adversity experienced this year. I really felt like persistence was key this year.”
King’s Fork had a heavy senior-led team this season. Of the players that made the all-region teams and honorable mention, six were seniors. It showed how strong and talented the team was and how those seniors have grown over the years in the program.
