Suffolk Police have arrested a man in connection with Friday evening’s shooting.
Quadrion Gebre Boone, 22, was arrested Tuesday evening following an intensive investigation, according to a city press release. He is charged with two counts of armed robbery, discharge a firearm in public, three counts of use of a firearm in commission of a felony, aggravated assault and wearing a mask in public.
The adult male victim suffered serious injuries but since has been released from the hospital.
The shooting was reported at 8:52 p.m. on North Fourth Street. Suffolk Police pursued a vehicle from the scene, which crashed in Chesapeake.
City spokeswoman Diana Klink stated in an email that Boone was allegedly the driver of the vehicle during the pursuit and also is charged with traffic offenses related to the chase, including disregard police command to stop.
“The totality of the circumstances did not warrant an attempted murder charge,” she stated.
Boone is being held without bond at Western Tidewater Regional Jail, the press release stated.
