The Nansemond-Suffolk Academy football team lost a game for the first time this season.
It was homecoming night for NSA, but a 38-22 loss to Norfolk Christian School soured the mood and put the Saints at 7-1 on the season. Norfolk Christian got things started in the first quarter, going up 7-0 early on.
NSA made things happen in the second quarter and went into halftime with a 14-10 lead. However, in the second half, all of the momentum belonged to Norfolk Christian. A few turnovers on the Saints’ end put Norfolk Christian in good positions to capitalize.
“We didn’t play our best football,” Coach Mike Biehl said. “We turned the ball over quite a bit. We just didn’t make enough plays on either side of the ball.”
Despite the loss, the Saints are not even close to being in bad shape. They could also very well remain No. 1 for week nine.
The Saints will turn their attention to Fredericksburg Christian next Saturday.
