The Suffolk grand jury in September indicted a man on multiple charges related to an assault that happened after a crash in August.
Huey Edward Boswell faces charges of malicious wounding, assault and battery, two counts of obstruction of justice and reckless driving.
“Suffolk Police are actively seeking the subject in order to serve the warrants,” city spokeswoman Diana Klink stated on Tuesday.
Boswell is charged in relation to an assault that happened Aug. 18. A crash happened that afternoon at the intersection of Pruden Boulevard and Kings Fork Road.
The crash involved 23-year-old Ashley Desirae Boswell, who was charged with failure to yield, and Larry Chavis, 66.
Following the accident, Larry Chavis and his wife, Cindy Chavis, were assaulted by a man who arrived on scene following the crash and left prior to the arrival of officers.
The couple’s daughter, Courtney Hirneisen, described the assault on her Facebook page, saying that her father was slammed in the chest and knocked into a ditch bank and her mother, also in her 60s, was punched in the head.
Less than a week later, Ashley Boswell was charged with obstruction of justice in relation to the assault investigation. According to Klink, the woman had stated she knew who the assaulters were but did not cooperate with officers.
She is set to appear in court on Nov. 8 for the obstruction of justice charge as well as the failure to yield charge.
