A detached garage was heavily damaged in a fire late Monday night.

Firefighters responded to a call at 11:17 p.m. and arrived on scene in the 2400 block of Skeetertown Road at 11:24 p.m., according to a city press release.

Crews found heavy fire showing from the single-story, detached garage, which was about 30 feet from the residence, the press release stated. The homeowner had removed vehicles from the garage before firefighters arrived.

The blaze was called under control at 11:37 p.m., according to the press release. The 600-square-foot garage sustained heavy damage, but the primary residence was not affected.

There were no injuries.

The Fire Marshal’s Office will investigate the cause of the fire.
