Water main repairs still not complete

A contractor was unable to complete permanent repairs on Saturday to a broken water main along White Marsh Road that is affecting some 500 residences.
The main was damaged by Public Works crews on Friday as they cleaned debris from Shingle Creek to allow for better stormwater drainage in the midst of Hurricane Florence.
Temporary repairs have been put in place so that citizens have water service in their homes. The permanent repairs will be rescheduled, according to a city press release.
“Staff would like to thank our citizens for their patience while this issue is corrected,” the release stated.
