The Western Tidewater Walk to End Alzheimer’s, originally scheduled for Sept. 15, has been canceled due to safety and flooding concerns.

“While we know this will be a disappointment to many, please understand that the safety of our participants, volunteers, sponsors, and staff is of primary concern to us,” Development Specialist Barbara Monteith said in an email.

Currently, the walk has not been rescheduled, but Monteith encourages participants to join other walks in Virginia Beach, Newport News and Williamsburg.
