The Independent Insurance Agents of Virginia — the commonwealth’s largest and most active insurance trade organization — recently announced the approval of its Board of Directors for the 2018-19 year at the association’s annual meeting in Virginia Beach.
Former Chair-Elect Hunter Odom Jr., of Suffolk Insurance Corporation, will become the organization’s chairman for the coming year. Horizon Insurance Services’ Dennis C. Winfree will replace Odom as chair-elect.
“Hunter and Dennis are two of the most qualified agents in the business,” Independent Insurance Agents of Virginia President and Chief Executive Officer Robert N. Bradshaw Jr. said. “Under their supervision, we are anticipating a big year ahead. The board is in good hands.”
Other additions to the 2018-19 Board of Directors include:
1st Vice Chair — Jill Roth of Ahart, Frinzi & Smith Insurance
District 1 Director — Christopher F. Cralle of Cralle Insurance Agency
District 5 Director — Michael T. Yergey of Yergey Insurance (second term)
District 6 Director — Priscilla G. Hottle of Hottle & Associates (second term)
Young Agent Chair — Jennifer Garriques of Garriques, Lloyd & McMahon
Associate Member Representative — Shawn Clavon, CPCU of Alfa Alliance Insurance Corp.
Each member was unanimously selected by the association’s nominations committee. The board member terms run from July 1 to June 30.
“Over the past year, the IIAV Board of Directors has achieved great things,” Bradshaw continued, “and we’re sure that trend will continue with this new wave of leadership. We’re excited to see what the next year holds.”
