Arrest made in Carrollton

An arrest was made after a day-long investigation in Carrollton that the Suffolk Mobile Command Unit was part of on Tuesday.

Paul Longoria, 32, was arrested on a felony charge of manufacture, possession, use, etc. of fire bombs or explosive materials or devices, according to an Isle of Wight County Sheriff’s Office press release.

The investigation began due to a threat made on a computer located in Longoria’s home, located in the 22000 block of Graystone Drive in Carrollton, but warrant materials from the FBI are sealed, according to Isle of Wight Sheriff’s Office spokesman Lt. Tommy Potter.

Longoria has been taken before a magistrate and transported to Western Tidewater Regional jail on a no-bond status. This means Longoria cannot be released by paying a bond until a bail amount is set by the assigned judge.

According to court records, Longoria’s arraignment was continued until Aug. 15, and he is scheduled for a bond hearing on Aug. 2.

Multiple law enforcement agencies were on site throughout the day, including the Suffolk Mobile Command Unit, the Isle of Wight County Sheriff’s Office and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The FBI led the investigation.
