Wet conditions for Suffolk this week

More rain and storms loom for Suffolk residents throughout this work week and into the weekend, according to National Weather Service Wakefield.
Meteorologist Matt Scalora said on Monday that there’s a 70-percent chance of rain on Tuesday, with equally high odds of rainfall Wednesday through Friday. The chance for Saturday and Sunday declines to about 30 percent, however.
The next few days are expected to have one to two inches of rainfall, and high temperatures should be in the 80s for the next several days, Scalora said. Showers will most likely occur in the afternoons and evenings.
“We just have a front in the area that’s stalled out for pretty widespread rain,” he said in a phone interview.
He did say that there should be little concern for flooding in the city.
“There could be localized flooding, but for the most part it’s just light to moderate rain with pockets of heavy rain,” he said.
