TowneBank announces promotions

TowneBank recently announced a number of promotions at its Suffolk headquarters.
Greg S. Ohmsen was promoted to executive vice president. He is the director of facilities and construction management based at TowneBank’s headquarters in Suffolk.
Ohmsen has been with Towne for 19 years and has more than 29 years of industry experience. He received his Bachelor of Science from Bridgewater College. In the community, Ohmsen sits on the board for the Roc Solid Foundation and is a Trustee for the Portsmouth-Chesapeake Elks Lodge No. 82.
John Fruit was promoted to senior vice president for card services and echannel support. Fruit has been with Towne since 1999 and has more than 19 years of industry experience. He received his undergraduate degree from Hampden-Sydney College and his Master of Business Administration from Averett University. Additionally, he is a graduate of the VBA Bank Management School at the University of Virginia.
Fruit sits on the Hampton Roads Leadership Council of the National MS Society and serves as the director for the TowneBank Foundation Golf Tournament as well as a technical arts team leader at Spring Branch Community Church.
Sheila A. Edmonds was promoted to vice president for document management administration.
Edmonds has been with Towne since 1999 and has more than 29 years of banking industry experience. In the community, Edmonds volunteers with the Salvation Army and VOLUNTEER Hampton Roads. She also participates in the Portsmouth Volunteer Program in partnership with Monumental United Methodist Church to feed the homeless.
Bridget Murray was promoted to assistant vice president. She is the flood compliance team leader based at TowneBank’s headquarters in Suffolk.
Murray has been with Towne for 15 years and has more than 20 years of industry experience. In the community, Murray has volunteered with the TowneBank Foundation’s Fall Extravaganza and the Salvation Army Christmas Depot. She also participates in the Portsmouth Volunteer Program to feed the homeless in partnership with Monumental United Methodist Church.
Mandy Sharp was promoted to assistant vice president. She is the loan document review team leader based at TowneBank’s headquarters in Suffolk.
Sharp has been with Towne for 15 years and has more than 19 years of industry experience. In the community, Sharp volunteers with her daughter’s Girl Scout troop and participates in the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program in partnership with Toys for Tots.
Bruce Bangley was promoted to assistant vice president. He provides oversight of building exteriors and grounds at TowneBank offices and is based out of TowneBank’s headquarters in Suffolk.
Bangley has been a member of Towne for five years and has more than 20 years of industry experience. A graduate of the Virginia Military Institute, Bangley participates in various community events including Hope House holiday decorating and Junior Achievement Hampton Roads. Additionally, he contributed to TowneBank’s construction project at Portsmouth Public School’s Safety Town.
