The Virginia Public Risk Management Association honored Suffolk’s risk manager at its annual spring conference held April 26-27 in Roanoke.
The association presented the Risk Manager of the Year award for the fiscal year 2017-2018 to Donna M. Vogel, risk manager for the City of Suffolk.
Vogel has been the risk manager for the city since 2014 and oversees the city’s insurance, workers’ compensation, wellness and occupational safety programs.
Vogel was selected through a competitive process following national PRIMA’s guidelines by a committee chaired by Brian Parker, chair of the board of directors for VAPRIMA and risk manager for the City of Portsmouth.
Vogel was provided the Risk Manager of the Year award and a scholarship to the national PRIMA conference that will be held in Indianapolis, Ind. in June.
