Nansemond River High School senior and basketball standout Vidal “V.J.” Wilkins has signed his National Letter of Intent to play basketball at Regent University.

Wilkins committed back in April and finally put the pen to paper recently.

“I’m looking forward to come in and contribute right away and work as hard as I can on and off the court,” he said. “I want to play to the best of my abilities and show off my hard work.”

As a senior on the basketball team, Wilkins contributed in a reserve role and provided solid shooting for the Warriors. His best game came against Great Bridge High School, where he scored 26 points for the Warriors.

He plans to major in communication and will be able to be close to home.
