Suffolk’s Relay for Life has been rescheduled for June 15.

“The school approved the date we requested,” event lead Dana DeFreeuw said in a Facebook Live video.

The event, a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society, will still be held from 6 p.m. to midnight at Nansemond River High School.

The prior date was canceled due to the threat of severe weather. The group decided to postpone the event for safety concerns and for the sake of Nansemond River’s field, DeFreeuw said.
