In support of Fenty for Congress

To the editor:
On June 12, we will be voting in our party primaries here in Virginia, and as the U.S. elections of 2016, and the gubernatorial election last year have shown, this primary will be critical for all of us living in the district.
Therefore, I will be casting my vote for Shion Fenty as the Republican nominee for the 4th Congressional District.
I have been impressed with Ms. Fenty from the moment I met her. She has a warm demeanor, and is a down-to-earth person. Unlike many politicians, she will talk to you not at you; she will listen to your concerns on the issues.
Ms. Fenty’s stances are based on commonsense solutions for the struggles that are facing us as citizens in the district, making her a voice of reason, instead of a chatterer who campaigns on irrelevant topics and knee-jerk reactions to those problems.
Her focus on education, job growth and immigration reform is just the type of commonsense
approach we need to represent the Republican Party on the ballot in November, and to represent the 4th District in Washington. As a daughter of immigrants who came to this country the legal way, she understands the importance of protecting our borders and respecting the rule of law.
She’s a small business owner, who understands the value of hard work and entrepreneurship that is the basis of the American dream. Ms. Fenty has also served as a mentor to many at-risk youth and been a strong advocate for education as a vehicle of empowerment to lift families out of poverty.
We deserve a representative who will put the people of the 4th District first, instead of serving their own self interests. That’s why on Tuesday, June 12, I’ll be casting my vote for Shion Fenty as the Republican candidate for Congress, and I urge you to do the same.
