The Nansemond-Suffolk Academy baseball team had five players earn all-conference honors.
Zac Morris, Caden Anselm, Robby Tew, Nic Psimas and D.J. Minor were all selected to the All-Conference team this season. Morris was a first-team selection, while the other four were second-team selections.
Before the start of the playoffs, NSA saw a season in which they finished in a very positive place under first-year coach Joey Seal.
Morris was honored to make first team Tidewater Conference of Independent Schools but gave credit to his teammates, who made it possible for him.
“I was really honored and glad that all my hard work paid off,” Morris said. “I think it’s a privilege to represent my team and my coaches. I really wasn’t focused on this award at all. I was honored to receive it, but our team was just focusing on one game at a time to be able to make it to the playoffs.”
After a rocky start, the Saint started to put together wins, even having a winning streak as long as nine games. The rest of the season they were able to maintain a winning record, and it showed by Anselm, Tew, Psimas and Minor being selected second team.
“I felt pretty good about making it,” Anselm said. “I am just glad we are having a great season and having fun playing the game we love.”
“We didn’t start off the way we wanted to, but we were able to put some good wins together,” Morris said. “We were able to turn our season around. I feel like if we play well enough together, we can beat any team.”
