The Nansemond-Suffolk Academy girls’ soccer team went on the road Wednesday afternoon to face Norfolk Collegiate. They took a 2-1 loss, falling in the semifinals on the Tidewater Conference of Independent Schools.
Abby Herrod scored the only goal for the Lady Saints.
During the regular season, Norfolk Collegiate won the matchup 2-1 as well. However, the Lady Saints now turn their attention to the state tournament. They did win their quarterfinal matchup against Hampton Roads Academy, with NSA being the No. 2 seed.
NSA will get to host at least one state game. In the final regular season Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association poll, the Lady Saints remained at No. 2. The No. 2 ranking is the highest it has been in recent seasons.
The state tournament will likely start next Tuesday for NSA.
