The Lady Saints softball team shutout Hampton Roads Academy to advance to the TCIS semifinals.

The Nansemond-Suffolk Academy softball team hosted Hampton Roads Academy in the first round of the Tidewater Conference of Independent Schools tournament. They defeated HRA 13-0.

NSA scored 12 of their 13 runs in the first inning. Reese Byrd and Madison Inscoe handled pitching duties, with Byrd getting the win. Jessica Chang went 2-2 with two runs and two RBIs. Inscoe and Kelly Turner had doubles, while Byrd and Chang had triples.

NSA will host their semifinal game against either Norfolk Christian School at 4:30 p.m. Thursday.
