The King’s Fork High School girls’ soccer team got a big 4-3 win in overtime over Western Branch High School at home Tuesday evening.
Lonni Cox put on a show, scoring all four of the Lady Bulldogs’ goals, including the go-ahead goal for the win during the overtime period. Hannah Marston assisted on three of Cox’s goals.
“They were a challenge, but we pulled through,” Cox said. “I wouldn’t have been able to score without the help of my teammates. I was just doing what I needed to do for the team, and I was able to play great.”
The four goals put Cox at 18 for the season. After a week break, Cox believed that time helped the team come out refreshed to compete for a win. King’s Fork will face Oscar Smith High School on the road at 5:30 p.m. Friday.
