Firefighters responded to a residential structure fire in the 800 block of Wet Marsh Court on Sunday evening.

The fire was reported at 7:49 p.m., and firefighters arrived five minutes later to find light to moderate smoke coming from the outside of the home on the garage side, according to a city press release. The fire was mostly under control after the homeowners used a garden hose on the flames, the press release stated.

Suffolk Fire & Rescue marked the fire under control at 7:59 p.m. The fire reportedly started in a garbage can and had spread to the side of the home. No one was injured, and the two adults and two children will not be displaced.

The cause was determined to be accidental.
