Saints extend win streak to five

The Saints baseball team got its fifth win in a row Saturday against Christchurch.
The Nansemond-Suffolk Academy baseball team only allowed two runs in its 13-2 win over Christchurch School on the road Saturday afternoon. They scored seven runs in the first inning to get things started. Colby Owens handled pitching duties and got a win as he struck out seven while allowing three hits.
Three Saints had multiple hits with Nic Psimas leading the way as he went 3-4 with two RBIs. They totaled 12 hits as a team. Seth Townsend and Jacob Smith each had two hits. NSA also had five doubles as a team with Smith, Chris Chappell, Will Rice, Caden Anselm and Talmond Old each recording one. Zac Morris recorded two stolen bases.
NSA will face Walsingham Academy at home at 4:30 p.m. Thursday. In this week’s Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association Division II baseball poll, NSA sits at No. 7.
