Man wanted on felony warrants

The Suffolk Police Department is seeking a 30-year-old Suffolk man on several violent felony charges and are asking for the public’s assistance.
Tyrone Coleman, of the 2200 block of East Washington Street, is wanted for attempted malicious wounding, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and a probation violation out of New York, according to a city press release.
Police were dispatched to the Hoffler Apartments in the 2200 block of East Washington Street at 10:23 a.m. Thursday, the press release stated.
Preliminary investigation found the subject had fired a shot at his girlfriend and then fled the area.
John F. Kennedy Middle School was placed on lockdown until police could confirm that the subject had in fact left that location after searching the residence, the release stated.
Coleman is described as 6 feet tall and 170 pounds with black hair and brown eyes, the release stated. He is considered armed and dangerous, and people who spot him should not approach him but should call 911 or their local police department.
