Two adults displaced in fire

Two adults were displaced in a house fire in the Holland area early Monday morning.
The fire in the 8000 block of Stuart Avenue as reported at 1:32 a.m., and crews arrived at 1:44 a.m., according to a city press release. Firefighters found heavy flames showing from the back of the house, with flames extending into the attic.
The occupants had evacuated prior to the arrival of firefighters and will be receiving assistance from the American Red Cross, the press release stated.
One firefighter was injured and was taken by ground ambulance to Sentara Obici Hospital for further evaluation. He was treated and released, city spokeswoman Diana Klink stated.
The fire was called under control at 3:24 a.m., the release stated.
Carrsville Volunteer Fire Department provided mutual aid with a medic and tanker truck.
